Arcadia Communications, LLC was formed in 2005 for the purpose of developing, owning, and operating wireless communications towers throughout select markets in the U.S. Arcadia Communications serves as the management company for Arcadia Towers, LLC's assets. Prior to forming Arcadia Communications and Arcadia Towers, co-founders Samuel T. Johnston, Jr. and Thomas R. Patterson were Managing Directors at Lattice Communications, LLC, a middle market tower company which was sold to Global Signal (NYSE:GSL) in December of 2004 for $115 million. In 2007, Arcadia Towers completed a $5.8 million equity financing with Kern Tower LLC, an investment company led by Jay Kern, founder and General Partner of Kern Whelan Capital, LLC, a San Francisco based investment group. In 2009, Arcadia completed a $5.0 million senior debt financing with the Maclellan Foundation to fund future development opportunities. Today, Arcadia Towers has a company-owned portfolio of high quality tower sites and optioned property available for site development located throughout the Midwest.
Sam Johnston is a co-founder and president of Arcadia Communications and Arcadia Towers. Prior to Arcadia, he co-founded Lattice Communications, LLC in 1997 and continued to serve as its Managing Director of Sales and Marketing until the company sold in 2004. At Lattice, Sam was responsible for the company’s leasing, marketing, and sourcing of new tower development opportunities, as well as performing site and market due diligence for acquisitions. While at Lattice, the company grew from 0 to 350+ towers. Sam spent his early career in management roles in the Cable TV industry.
Tom Patterson is a co-founder and CFO of Arcadia Communications and Arcadia Towers. Prior to Arcadia, Tom was Director for KeyBanc Capital Markets, serving clients in the telecommunications sector. Prior to KeyBanc, Tom was Managing Director of Corporate Development at Lattice until the company’s sale in 2004. At Lattice, Tom was responsible for all aspects of tower acquisitions, including sourcing transactions, market and site analysis, financial modeling and analysis, due diligence, and negotiating purchase agreements. Tom spent the early part of his career in the banking industry in corporate banking, management, and business development positions.
